Kindness: Pass it on (Note to Self)

With my phenomenal wingspan, it is difficult to imagine there might be something outside of my physical grasp. In old photos you will find me, laughing(that is how i know they are old) with arms around friends, posing with unfortunate hair and big drinks(or is it big hair and unfortunate drinks??)   After spying a tan and bony hand 4 or 5 people away from me, you might be all, "Whose hand is that? Oh OH! wow."    It comes in handy for doubles in beach volleyball but still astonishing to see.
Anyway, tonight while at our uber ghetto Walgreen's pharmacy drive through, my stellar spacial abilities left my reach to the window short by nearly a foot. Still stoked that there had been nobody in front of me as I wheeled in, I neglected  to look behind me before attempting to reposition.  Guess what. Yup.   Shoulda looked.
Good thing I was wearing my "just fucking shoot me already face" Knowing physical damage to either car was unlikely, I still braced for some sort of pain in the ass as a result of my carelessness...or at least some karmic retribution for my overall sucking.

Watching and waiting sympathetically from behind the wheel of her vintage sedan were the smiley eyes of a gracious gold toothed angel.  Before I could choke out an apology for my existence, she placed her darker and more wrinkley hand on mine tenderly, assuring me of no need to worry.  The kindness in her voice and smile brought my immediate tears.  I had forgotten what it is like to be comforted.  Did I deserve this? Perhaps. What seems most important to acknowledge: A hapless beneficiary of her kindnes, I had little if anything to do with her response to me.

  3. Some people have innate kindness. I wonder where they get it?

Your thoughts are welcome here. As long as they are kind. Or maybe just not unkind.
