The Silver Lining

The silver lining here is that  this virus comes at the tail end of our 3 months of teething hell and unrelenting slew of respiratory infections.  Right?   Here is a picture of our silver lining.  The silver lining that will be covering Bert's perfect and tender little lips, cheeks, palms, soles of his feet, arms, and legs for only the next 8-12 weeks.  More good news:  Benign, it resolves itself and may only leave moderate scarring.  We can just wait more to have Bert assessed for his speech and physical delays until after he recovers from this. What's a few more months? JFC!

This syndrome, atypical in the US, is called Gianotti-Crosti Syndrome.  It is actually only the residual effect of a viral infection.  Fascinating.  I am thrilled to have learned something new and so unusual today.  Another  The only actual cool thing is that sweetest angelpie Bert remains perky and content, though not comfortable.  Unconditionally interested in snuggle and play at any given moment, so long as it is with me.

Everything is fine. Just very tired and even more tired of being tired and talking about being tired.

Doo Tell

Daily, if not hourly, do I fret over the speech delay of our older son* This morning, I was reminded again of my aging body and my ongoing struggle to "hold it" when I really need to go. We were hunting rollie pollies as we do each day before school. Away from home and shackled with the little guys*, I did the unthinkable. I grabbed a diaper, squatted and took care of business in front of my boys. Ugh. I am grateful that this will not be relayed in anyway that will make sense to his teachers. Appalling. This vexing speech delay has now served as more than just a great stressor. **For whatever the reason, I find that I would prefer to avoid naming my children in my blog. Since referring to them as the older and younger feels too detatched, I shall in all future posts refer to them as Bert and Ernie. Bert is my older boy of 2 1/2. Ernie is my baby, 1 year next week.
